Dish and lid are steel shells with tungsten carbide inserts; puck and ring are solid tungsten carbide. 6.9 in diameter x 3.2 in high, 29 lb (17.5 cm x 8 cm, 12.5 kg). Nominal volume 240 mL, recommended grinding load 20-60 mL. Includes puck, ring, dish with O-ring gasket, and lid.

Ideal for grinding dry and brittle samples in the 8500 ShatterBox® and the 8530 ShatterBox®. Sturdier and heavier than steel so it grinds faster with less contamination. Long wearing and efficient with a high resistance to abrasion.
