Cole-Parmer® SamplePrep HG-250 GenoLyte® Temperature Controlled Compact Tissue Homogenizer and Cell Lyser

Part Number: 1200C

The GenoLyte® is a powerful, compact, temperature controlled homogenizer. Ideal for applications involving sample preparation for DNA/RNA research and extraction, protein extractions, tissue homogenization, and cell lysis.

The HG-250 Chilled GenoLyte® is an efficient, compact laboratory homogenizer that uses a circulating-chiller (not included) to maintain sample temperature between 0 to 10⁰C while effectively disrupting cellular materials by horizontally oscillating 2 mL vials.

Typical applications include: DNA/RNA research and extraction, protein extractions, and tissue homogenization.

Typical samples include: animal tissue, plant tissue, cell cultures, bacteria, yeast, stool, and soil.

The HG-250 Chilled GenoLyte® is a compact, high-performance laboratory homogenizer designed to keep samples cool while ensuring efficient, consistent tissue disruption. By maintaining stable temperatures between 0 to 10 °C (when connected to a circulating chiller, not included), while effectively disrupting cellular materials by horizontally oscillating 2 mL vials, this system prevents heat-related degradation, making it ideal for sensitive nucleic acid, protein, and enzyme extractions.

The Cole-Parmer SamplePrep HG-250 Temperature Controlled GenoLyte maintains stable low temperatures to protect heat-sensitive molecules, preventing sample degradation during processing.

The unit effectively disrupts tough samples like seeds, stems, roots, leaves, and animal tissue in minutes using bead beating technology. This technology quickly extracts nucleic acids, proteins, and other biomolecules.

The quick-connect cooling setup makes it easy to integrate a chiller. The digital timer ensure precise control over tune time and speed. The lid includes a safety interlock for added protection, and the clear lid design allows for visibility of the grinding process. Clamp orientation makes loading and unloading the vial effortless and ensures perfect vial placement.

The mechanical disruption eliminates the time-consuming and inconsistent process of manual grinding, ensuring reproducible extractions without the risk of cross-contamination.

Operation is easy, simple secure the vials in the cooled sample chamber and close the lid. Set the desired time and speed using the digital controls, press start, and the the GenoLyte efficiently process your samples.

A circulating chiller is required for continuous temperature control. The GenoLyte is compatible with Polystat® Circulating Baths or most circulating chiller systems. Purchase chiller and vials separately.
